THIS .ZIP FILE IS THE BEST EVIDENCE OF AN ATTEMPT TO CREATE A RETAIL SIMULATION.
OUR IMPROVISED EFFORT MIXES THE PERSONNEL, METHODS, AND TOOLS CHOSEN BY ADHOC STUDIO IN PARTNERSHIP WITH EDU GARCIA OF MICROPROSE, LUCAS STEELE, ADELINE DUCKER, JOSE MIRANDA, YOURS TRULY, AND MANY OTHERS WHOSE DETAILED CREDITS AND ASSOCIATED THANKS ARE DISPLAYED THROUGHOUT THIS DEMO (IE: UNITY ENGINE, POWERHOOF, OMPUCO, CRAIG KROEGER + NIKOLAY DUBINA, AND SO MANY OTHERS! TOO MANY TO LIST HERE [because the "special thanks" page looks better in this demo than they would look on my dumb itchio page] haha).
THIS PROJECT STARTED IN 2022. WHILE THE DEMO REFLECTS ONLY A RUDIMENTARY PROTOTYPE, OUR EFFORT TO COMPLETE THE SIMULATION IS BOTH POSSIBLY AND IMPOSSIBLY ONGOING.
OUR ATTEMPT IS LARGELY BASED ON THE UNFINISHED 2010 RETAIL SIMULATION "CART LIFE" AND FEATURES WIDELY EXPANDED AND EVEN HIGHER-BITRATE COMPOSITIONS BY EACH OF ITS ORIGINAL COMPOSERS:

IN OCTOBER OF 2024 I UPLOADED THIS LIMITED PREVIEW HERE ON ITCHIO. IT IS, TO MY KNOWLEDGE, THE FULLEST PLAYABLE VERSION OF OUR PROTOTYPE BUT IS LIMITED TO A 20-MINUTE AND 24-SECOND TIME LIMIT FOR "DEMO" PURPOSES.

TECHNICAL NOTE(S):
After the 00:20:24 timer counts down to 00:00:00, the demo will reset. At this point, some players report their input (ie: in-game keyboard commands) getting tangled up. If you experience this, please EXIT AND REBOOT the demo for a fresh ride any time.
Map notes ARE OFTEN MISSING / WRONG (esp. Melanie's, depending on her starting season). SORRY MELANIES OF THE WORLD FOR THIS MISTAKE IN THE DEMO. ALSO I FORGOT TO TAKE OUT A PRIVATE SHOUTOUT FROM MELANIE'S CHARACTER-SELECT MENU PAGE. HOWDY JAMES AND BO AND VEN AND KOA. WHOOPS.
Lots of "Ask X About Y" dialogs are clearly absent (ie: asking someone at the diner about said diner, and then hearing something dumb like "Jeeze, I dunno — I've never been there." haha etc)
